So I spent 6 hours converting an AVI file to DVD and another 3 to burn it on a 1Ghz machine. I just want to know if this is normal. The total time spent, I mean.

Specs:
PIII 1Ghz
512RAM
80GB HDD
Samsung Writemaster [18x]
DVD: Sony DVD-R 8x

ConvertXtoDVD at Normal Priority Speed.
700MB Avi file and subs >> 4.22DVDFiles

I don´t have ConvertX, but it sounds fine to me
I´ve done some of my own avi stuff with Premiere which has taken much longer.

Please post your log so we can see what’s going on. Log can be found under: C:\Documents and Settings<User>\Application Data\VSO\ConvertXtoDVD.log

Dear E-Monster, Welcome to the forum, I can only say that the specs of your computer are the bare minimum for most applications today.

Specs:
PIII 1Ghz
512RAM
80GB HDD
I would suggest an upgrade to 1 mb of system RAM for a start and that P3 1Ghz processor is pretty old, that said it should still work, but not as fast as you would expect. Just my views mind you.:o

Yes, I kinda figured that out. Thanks.

6 hours for converting is normal, but 3 hours burning?
Just burning 1x would take 1 hour.
