Theatrical subscription service 'MoviePass' cancels big debut.
[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/2011/07/v0CVfB.jpg[/newsimage]The creators of MoviePass, a fresh-faced subscription service which lets members see all the movies they want in theaters rather than their homes, made no excuses for the similarities between it and popular online streamer Netflix. In fact, the company embraced them. Before MoviePass' planned unveiling over the busy July 4th holiday weekend which would grant early adopters with a limited beta offer valid in several theaters in San Francisco, MoviePass was already touting the pros of the "all you can watch" Netflix model. Sadly, one aspect it didn't copy from Netflix was actually getting permission from its alleged partners.
