The rarest/most obscure recordable medium

The MITSUI early production, pre-production or prototype disc.

As you can see the hub code is in 1 group, unlike the standard format which is 3.

Disc was made at day 260th in 1992, MITSUI JAPAN.

I have a sealed disc like this format, I think it was made in early 1992 by MITSUI.

I guess it was made in 1997.

There is another one names “DSB-650E” was made by CMC.But I don’t have it on hand.

today,
I would like to show you the rarest MITSUI CD-R in my collection.
you may wonder if there was a prototype MITSUI CD-R since there was a START Lab type 0 prototype cd-r.However, there was no any information in the past 30 years for the type 5 prototype cd-r.

actually,
there was a type 5 cd-r was made in 1992 by MITSUI using the 1 group serial number not 3.
then MITSUI switched to 3 quickly.

#1, as you can see there is a “made in Japan” text under the “COMPACT disc” logo.

A weird Kodak Portfolio CD-R.
In most of cases, Kodak CD-R hub code uses 3 sets of characters.
The first set contains year and day of year.
e.g.,
1995, day 321 would be “5321”

However, below Kodak Portfolio looks similar to the Kodak code but if you look carefully, then you would realize the code look something wrong.

The first set of code is “4722”
I don’t think it was made in 1994 day 722.
Maybe this disc was made in Mars not Earth!
Not sure if it is a fake Kodak Portfolio CD-R or it is something for Lab or prototype.

The second set of code “1611” looks odd to me.
