The output of DVDFab is weird - ex. on No Country for old men

I reported one threat before DVDFab 4.0.6.2. regarded to the output of DVDFab. After that, DVDFab 4.0.6.2 was out and handle with any kinds of protections very well. The output was so clean. So, I decided to give a shot at 4.1.0.2 when I saw it was out. Unfortunately, the issue came back to me again. I’ll show you what I taking about.

First of all. I bought a moive - No country for old men (Disney). I used the DVDFab 4.0.1.2 to back it up, and burnt it out with Imgburn. The process of backup and burning were successful. After all, I used Anydvd (Third-Party software) to check it out whether the output is clean or not.

The backup process was Full Disc with PathPlayer is enable (I’m pretty sure about that). The Playback were ok both of PC and TV DVD Player.

However, I’m still wondering why the output is weird. Does anyone have any idea?

If you use DVDFab disable anydvd. Dont use both at same time it can cause conflicts or wierd results

I get the impression from what the OP wrote that they were just comparing the results detected by AnyDVD after making a backup with DVDFab. It should be noted that their version of AnyDVD is a bit dated. They’re still using v6.3.0.3 and the latest release is v6.3.1.7 official or v6.3.1.8 beta. The latest release may show different results but I can’t say for sure.

The real question is does the backup made with DVDFab work w/o errors either when watched on your computer or using a standalone DVD player? If the answer is “yes” then be happy. You have successfully backed up the disc.

Yes and just maybe running Anydvd in the background when using DVDFab,…which is a NO NO

I get the feeling that you should use one not the other, if you own Fab use it as intended, or dont buy it. Ofcourse once you buy it you can use it anyway you like, but dont complain if the output is not what you were looking for. Use Fab without AnyDVD , there is a popup that tells you so. If you choose to ignore that you wind up with files that might not be complaint or play correctly.

Thanks for you all advises.

I’ve never ran DVDFab with Anydvd at the same time, and I’m not complaining the output of DVDFab because I love and appreicate the performance of DVDFab. I just wanna make sure of my backup which is perfect and nothing else.

That’s a given. Sadly, however, some people never read and never learn.

I fully agree here. Comparing the output from one product to another really doesn’t mean much. People could sit down and compare things and see how things are done differently but the normal user won’t really understand the differences. If the backup works then there’s no point in over-analyzing it. The best test to see if the backup works is to burn it [to a DVD RW if you like] and watch it.

i would be the first person to recommend dvdfab.

there is a problem with the full disc output. http://club.cdfreaks.com/2019517-post23.html

i dont see a problem with comparing or using different programs. i own a few myself.

here is the ifo screen for main movie rip of No Country for Old Men, using dvfab 4102, pathplayer always enabled, burned with imgburn 2400.

anydvd has problems backing up movies on a vista PC. dvdfab platinum has no problems backing up movies on a vista PC and works with all dvd’s.

   i fully support dvdfab, in fact ive never even posted in the anydvd forum.

this is not a deal if dvdfab or anydvd is better.    the original poster simply noticed something and wanted to report it.

lets not turn this into more than that.

Actually, there are another moive has the same issue - Dan in real life (Disney).
The output is weird either.

I don’t have vlc player, so I don’t know if opens files of backup with vlc whether crash or not.

This is only FYI, don’t take it personal to compare what is better between softwares.

The reason I posted my first message was to point out that Fancy is using a vista OS and that is why the output looks weird.

Now troy512 is using a xp OS and that is why his output does not look weird. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression I just wanted to point that out and was not trying to say what program was better.

Just for clarification No Country For Old Men is not one of the very small amount of movies that the AnyDVD ripper has issues with when it comes to Windows Vista. The protections removed in the status window shouldn’t differ between XP and Vista.

I’m not here to promote AnyDVD but I felt that I needed to comment. Anyway, this is my last post in this thread because I don’t wish to ruffle any feathers.
