The Internet is “completely over,” says Prince.

[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/2010/07/6WuAyo.jpg[/newsimage]Prince may be a musical visionary, but a technological visionary he's not.

Prince is completely over, says the Internet. :stuck_out_tongue:

He could have been talking about IPv4 but I doubt it.

If he makes the songs - let him do with it as he sees fit.
It is cheaper to buy an after market CD on Ebay for $4.00 and save the songs to an iPod than going through iTunes and paying $1.29 each.\

He may have his quirks but he makes more money from his music in a year than most of us in a lifetime. He must be doing something right even without the internet.

It seems like the YouTube restriction on Prince had been lifted as I’ve just after searching for ‘Prince’ on YouTube and played a couple of videos with sound, e.g. “Purple rain” and “Little Red Corvette”.

I do agree with the above about buying second hand CDs. I recently bought a handful from Play.com’s used section for €2 to €3 each. Sure, the jewel case may be cracked, etc. but you don’t get a jewel case with the downloadable version, let alone the CD! The only catch I ran into with second hand CDs is running into DRM-crippled discs.

I think we have a majority vote…LOL…

WTFCA him anyway. You can get his music at the GoodWill for peanuts…if you care to listen to it. There may be a hard core of people who want to listen, well it’s a free country.

I think it is just a matter of Prince being Prince. HE can blow off the internet,
HE can make outrageous statements about the internet, etc. Most people
have to keep at least one foot grounded in reality, HE doesn’t

This is the per-verbal grabbing for the last straw or dying gasp for air. He is over and he knows he just can’t see the reality his fame is going down and down and down. Only those whom can’t live with the internet and make a business out of it are bound to go down.
