OK - well we’re all stuck at not knowing how the clearplay software identifies which movie is on the DVD.
without that info it’s impossible to say why some clones work & some dont.
if I were a hacker, which I’m not, I’d start by examining the USB stick which stores the clearplay filters. The filter file must contain the data which is matched against the DVd when idenitifying it, so study that file structure - should be easier than trying to find out what is in the software inside the DVD player.
google found this: Latest iPhone Applications : ClearPlay Movie Browser - Do you have a ClearPlay DVD player and find it annoying when renting movies because you don’t know what filters there are?
This webapp solves the problem. View over 2500 movie titles currently filtered by ClearPlay on your iPhone
so it is possible to read the USB stick outside of the clearplay environment.
PS. I did like this comment esp. the final sentence, - from http://www.timesandseasons.org/?p=2185
“…, removing a few profanities or clipping a couple of scenes does not turn the the fruits of Babylon into those of Zion. I’m troubled that people seem to think that it does — that if you snip a couple of offensive scenes you can then indulge in the rest of the film that was intended to frame those scenes. Most of the spiritual damage that accrues from Hollywood’s output is not inflicted by the few snippets that these technologies remove”.
Let’s not get into that here though, you need to find a pro-christian hacker group who can crack clearplay’s trade secrets & thus tell us what is wrong with DVD clones.
