Just wanted to give a thank you to the forum and especially to Kerry56 for introducing me to VideoReDo and to Steve33 for recommending VOB2MPG. I've edited a couple of videos now using those programs and have found them to be well worth while. I had been using Mpeg Video Wizard but started having various problems with the program, and find that VideoReDo seems to do a much better job. And the learning curve with both programs is not too steep at all. Thanks again guys.

There aren’t too many programs that do smart rendering around cut points in mpeg2, and even fewer that can claim to work that way in H264. If VideoRedo continues to improve their H264 support, they will be in an excellent position in that market.

Unfortunately, H265 is arriving soon! Oh well, maybe they’ll step up to the challenge and be one of the first editors for that format too.
