Yeah they have they own Asda, we even have the greeter. Doesnt really work with a British mentality though.

Walmart hasnt been as successful outside the US as fuel costs and transport aint as cheap. They still make most of their money in the US.

Well at least tesco, gives people a choice. But I, seem to recall, that Walmart has yet to successfully penetrate the lucrative retail market in California(a populous state with a minimum of 32 million legitimate citizens(excluding illegals), with a very excellent 1st class road/freeway system up to 8 or more lanes wide, permitting very large trucks in excess of 42 tonnes mass to travel well in excess of 120k plus(ie > 70mph) without hindrance). The last county they tried voted no! to the demands for for low property taxes and other deep concessions sought in order to erect a new retail store on cheap county surplus land. But then again when compared to 16 to 18 tracks on those el cheapo $2 discounts cd’s and the distribution costs limited to the cost of website/servermaintenance(once of music track conversion required it is still way to expensive to purchase music in a lossy format:d
