Both interesting answers Well, I know I record a lot of concert coverage, documentaries and things which, since is no offical release of them as such (Like Red Nose Day 2011, Live at Reading and Leeds Festival 2010, etc) might be worthwhile to keep, if people want copies as such even if its for personal use
I know the BBC etc archive isnt endless, and I know they will either chuck out the footage, record over it (Live Aid anyone?) or up them to better archival media.
Wasnt it until the 1980s until the BBC started archiving material properly?
In either case, I have recordings of Channel Four"s broadcast of Destination Docklands (25/12/88) and Euronews broadcast of Live in Monaco (July, 2011) two Jean Michel Jarre concerts that could be rare since inevitably they could be edited for a DVD or Blu Ray release, or maybe not
I just know it might be possible they may not reair it again. Im open to ideas of course
