[qanda]This thread is about the NEC ND-1100A. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Greetings…
I have an old Dell machine that I’m cannibalizing. I removed a DVD burner (super multi) and put it into an external IDE case (Belkin Clone) and am using USB 2.0 and jumpered the DVD burner as “master” (NEC Model: ND-1100A)
Have a Toshiba M35 with Win XP- which has an internal CD-RW/DVD-ROM only so wanted to use the external DVD to burn DVDs…
Having problems with:
the laptop recognizing the drive unless I boot up with the drive attached- otherwise will not recognize the addition of the drive via USB if laptop already running
When recognized I can READ cd’s and DVD’s but cannot burn to DVD or CD via USB 2.0
Using multiple dvd burning software including “123CopyDVD 2009” also tried NERO, and several other burning programs with same issues.
Any advice would me very much appreciated!! Thanks!
