I read that the Teac DVM50D is actually a Pioneer 106 drive. Is this true? If so, is there any hack/upgrade I can do to make it perform better? My drive takes over 40 mins. to read a DVD and about 20 mins. to write. The write speed is ok, but I was wondering if I could increase the read speed with a firmware hack/upgrade.
A Pioneer 106 is a DVD-ROM drive.
Probably you mean a DVR-106 or DVR-A06.
