Teac DVD+RW DV-W58E in Dell PC Wipeout!

Hi

Amazingly I have managed to wipe out my DVD/CD in my Dell PC.

The error that comes up thru XP is: “Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)”

I’m handy but absolutely not a genius here: how do I reinstall my CD when I can’t access it to run a disk?!!

I have googled and Teac have no install files for this drive - or so they say.

Help really appreciated

Thx in advance

Ray

Hi, Ray. Is your computer out of the warranty phase with Dell? Can you battle through the on-hold queue times and call them? Unfortunately, I don’t know much about registry editing, but I’m making a guess that it’s not easily fixable. Have you had any interest in reloading your operating system latety? Might be the quickest fix.
