Well, i got very poor results writing DVD-R/RW with the 812s @ USOJ, using princo and CMC magnetics media even at 4x. And read a in-depth review in a german it mag which gave the TEAC good ratings for writing. So i am going to give it a try.
BTW: What type of media have you tried ?

It seems that Teac is not able to do a good firmware for his own drive!!!
