The drive uses P-CAV… not Z-CAV.

Ian as it seems you are wrong. TEAC Japan has the official specs for TEAC 516E in the following page: http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/product/optical/cd-w516e.html and it says: 17X - 32X Speed (Zone CAV) : CD-DA(DAE), CD-RW CD-ROM XA MODE2 (FORM 2) Maybe you should read the specs better next time :8

Well the english manual says the exact same thing. Drive supports Zone-CAV and not P-CAV :d

Who cares WTF the drive supports? These days almost all drives are of very good quality and almost equal. Get a dirt cheap LG and let the websuckers read jap pages :8

Is by any chance that JM the cdrinfo webmaster? The guy is a total jerk, he posted on his page that he supposedely “got mail about the issue”! :r What a loser :r
