So is this drive reliable for quality scans? I noticed practically no one in this thread used it as a scanning drive.
I’d prefer to buy a Liteon iHBS 112, but these seem to be very hard to find now, so I’m forced to look at the various rebadges… I’m interested in BluRay as well as DVD quality scanning.
Thanks!

INFOMER40 burned with 6x and scanned with 4x in a BD-W512GSA

#93

Thanks, katraine!
In your experience, is the rebadeged TEAC as reliable as the iHBS 112 for quality scans? The spikes in your scan look a bit suspicious - or is this normal or due to the blank media used?

#94

I´m using rebadged TEAC and HP drives for scanning.
The results are comparable to those made with original LiteOn drives, although You will never get exactly the same scan result from the same disc using two different drives, no matter if they are identical genuine LiteOns or rebadged.

The spikes in the scan above are due to the blank media used, respectable to the firmware, which seems not optimized for 6x speed. Probably You will get better results with 4x speed for this mediacode in a TEAC BD-W512GSA.
