How is the tdk velocd vs a liteon burner. i cant find the review up.
Which VeloCD? Newer ones ARE liteons.
the newer velocd-liteon models
the ones in comparison with the new liteon
i will be using my burner a lot for audio and i heard that liteon burns are sometimes not recognized in different players-of course could be due to user software or settings error.
basically i am going to buy one of the 2 . price dosent matter. i just want to be able to make good audio and back up games.
They are the same hardware. the TDK is probably “prettier”. Look at what software comes with the drives. Maybe they’re the same.
For what it is worth, here is a rundown of TDK models and what they actually are:
TDK 8432 = Plextor PX-W8432T
TDK 121032 = Plextor PX-W1210A
TDK 121032A = Ricoh MP7125A
TDK 161040 = Plextor PX-W1610TA
TDK 161040X = Sanyo CRD-BP1400P
TDK 161040XA = Sanyo CRD-BP1500P (firmware limited to 16X)
TDK 241040B = LiteOn LTR-24102B
TDK 241040X = Sanyo CRD-BP1500P
TDK 321040B = LiteOn LTR-32123S
TDK 321040X = Sanyo CRD-BP1600P
TDK 401248B = LiteOn LTR-40125S
TDK 401248X = Sanyo CRD-BP1700P
TDK 481648B / 482448B / 4800B = LiteOn LTR-48246S
TDK 522448 / 5200 = LiteOn LTR-52246S
TDK 482448B = LiteOn ???
Probably LTR 48246S (or W)
I have a TDK 121032A. Is it possible to flash it with the Ricoh firmware? TDK has never updated the firmware for this drive. I got stuck burning alot of CDs slower than 12x.
Windows 2000 Pro sees the the drive as TDK 121032A. But I don’t care what the drive is as long as it will burn at 12x.
TDK 482448B = LTR 48246S
would there be an advantage in flashing a TDK 241040B to the lite-on firmware? should be an increase in functionality as far as game back-up etc. shouldn’t it?
