36x speed, nice but your hd and cpu has to be able to keep up

udma100 with striping over 2 drives can barely keep up with 16x - this is crap anyway

@1 stop using fucking IDE burners!

I have 16speed yam(SCSI) running from IBM ata100 drive, no probems.
(with OPERA & SONIQUE running)

ATA100 cannot keep up with 16x? HUH? Are you on crack? Hell, my 48x Toshiba is able to keep up with my 12x IDE Plextor, let along my HD.
