TDK DVD-RW 4x - Very poor

Hi,

During the last months I bought in different places some TDK DVD-RW 4x.

The one that lasted longer was about 10 times, meaning that I managed to rewrite it 10 times.
The last one in my hands just 1 time. :a
After that, they give me a variety of errors and become unusable.

I use a Plextor PX-716A to burn
The MID is: TDK601 saku

Has anybody had the same negative experience as I had?

I use now successfully the Verbatim DVD-RW 6x discs (although I can only burn them at 4x given that Plextor firmware doesn’t allow higher speeds).

Thank you for your feedback.

Alex

Verbatim is definitely the right media to go for when it comes to anything like DL media or RW media. Nothing else can really compete for quality.

Btw, I think I had an old 2x RW TDK but it worked fine a fair number of times then I ended up accidentally scratching it. Never tried their 4x - I actually used Ritek RW 4x discs and they worked quite ok.

I guess the Verbatim 6x DVD-RWs are slightly more expensive so you might wish to use Verbatim 4x DVD-RWs (cheaper) or Verbatim 8x DVD+RWs (supported at 8x).
