Tdk bd-r dl

Same batch/spindle of TDK BD-R50 4x printable as above:

External LG BE12LU30

Disc: TDK BD-R DL 4x printable
MediaID: TDKBLDRFB (000)
Burned with: ImgBurn 2.5.8.0
Burnspeed: 4x

Scanner: LiteOn IHBS112

Much better, but still not good for my taste.

Disc from a different batch/spindle of TDK BD-R50 4x printable as above:

External LG BE12LU30

Firmware 1.01

Disc: TDK BD-R DL 4x printable
MediaID: TDKBLDRFB (000)
Burned with: ImgBurn 2.5.8.0
Burnspeed: 4x

Scanner: LiteOn IHBS112

That´s a pretty good one, why can´t it always be this way?
So, a LG writer with actual firmware is able to deliver good results with the mediacode TDKBLDRFB (000), when the quality of the discs is up to grade.:iagree:

LG BH10LS30
Firmware: 1.01 A0

Disc: TDK BD-R DL 4x printable repacked from a Japanese ebay seller
MediaID: TDKBLDRFB (000)
Burned with: ImgBurn 2.5.8.0
Burnspeed: 4x

Scanner: LiteOn IHBS312

A little scratch about 10mm away from the outer rim on the data side (it wasn´t me! :disagree:) has caused the ugly symmetric spikes in the scan :a

2x TDK BD-R50 4x printable from j-stop, as in my posts above:

External LG BE12LU30

Firmware 1.01

Disc: 2x TDK BD-R DL 4x printable
MediaID: TDKBLDRFB (000)
Burned with: ImgBurn 2.5.8.0
Burnspeed: 4x

Scanner: LiteOn IHBS312

The 1st scan is of the the replacement disc for a missing disc in a shipment from Japan j-stop sent me.

The 2nd scan is from another shipment from j-stop.

The peaks are not unusual for a BD-R DL burn, but the average rates are too high for a good burn.

Both discs show similar characteristics, so I assume it´s a bad batch, again.:a

Pioneer BDR-206
Firmware: 1.05

Disc: TDK BD-R DL 4x printable repacked from a Japanese ebay seller (www.play-japan.com)
MediaID: TDKBLDRFB (000)
Burned with: ImgBurn 2.5.7.0
Burnspeed: 4x

Conclusion : 2 of 3 discs wont even burn… bought them 9 months ago. Have “degraded” cignifically just by lying on the shelf.
Movie unwatchable / choppy in player.
All 30 discs is junk.

Would never recomend TDK branded printables…

Update - After i complained to Play-Japan (www.play-japan.com) about the bad TDK BD50 discs, they were so kind, to re-send me 29 Verbatim’s + 1 TDK , total of 30 new BD50 discs. So i feel i have to mention that, as a positive act. The TDK one did burn better then the Verbatims , but both are still good results for BD50.

Note : Works very good now, got re-send some good working one.

Previous must have been a bad batch, or discs gone bad from being in those “sleeves” they repack and ship them in.

RECOMENDED to move discs to jewel case / Spindle as soon as received!
