Is this real TDK with TDK MID and is it safe to buy?
http://www.smartimports.net/products/TDK-BD%2dR-DL-4x-50GB-20%2dpack-(Spindle)-Blu%2dray-Discs.html

#9

I’m pretty sure those are real TDK. I just bought Taiyo Yuden off ebay with free postage from japan for cheaper, which are also a TDK mid.

#10

Thanks!, by writing “safe” i mean about the quality of the disc.

infini, yep they’re safe for DL BD-R that’s for sure!

#12

It seems that there are TDK media that are not TDK:

No media code for these:
http://nikonekoya.com/a-v-electronics/recording/blu-ray/25gb-bd-r/tdk-blu-ray-disc-50-spindle-25gb-4x-bd-r-printable.html
I wonder if they are also CMC media. The first are BRV25PWB50PK and the second BRV25PWB50PA.

#13

The single layer discs can be a range of different MIDs. I have already gotten ritek and cmc from two separate spindles. The dl should more of a safe bet but i would suggest getting TY branded dl discs instead. They should always be tdk MID.

#14

Here http://nikonekoya.com/a-v-electronics/recording/blu-ray/tdk-blu-ray-disc-20-spindle-50gb-4x-bd-r-dl-printable-super-hard-coat.html it says “made in China”.

#17

Infini, I would just get Taiyo Yudens from ebay if you want DL. They are definitely TDK MID and Made in Japan only.
