TDK 1616dln aka NEC3500 strange problem

I have had the TDK 1616DLN for just a year. Verification after burn using Nero fails consistently even though Nero says burn successful.

I have tried,

-changing ide cable new
-reinstalled XP
-switched master slave configuration
-change DMA to PIO
-flashed Liggy’s 2TG from TDK stocked firmware.

Any ideas guys? Appreciated.

search the nero forum and you will find that the nero verify is a waste of time. it signifies nothing do an fc, windiff, or iso compare if you really want to be sure
