TCP/IP connection errors?

Me and my friend have tried to play with/against eachother over the net with two games: Diablo II and Heroes of Might and Magic III. We use the TCP/IP multiplayer on both, and doesn’t work on neither.

He is on Windows XP, and I am on Windows 2000. With the TCP/IP connection, you have to give the other person(s) your IP address. The one that shows at www.whatismyip.com is different to the one ingame in Diablo II. The ingame one is 192.68.0.10. Any ideas?

You have to forward ports when using NAT.

You got to forward your ports as dizzy mentioned this may be some help for you http://www.portforward.com/default.htm. The common ports for some games are listed there.

edit: 192.68.0.10 should be your static IP for this machine
