i have an LightScribe TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632N ATA dvd-burner… now the problem is that idk if my drive reader is dead or not. But The Problem is that my drive wont /stopped reading discs. i tried various tools to see if it tells me what brand name is it, but i came up with no answers, so i wanna know if i need to buy another drive or if u can give me some DIRECT answers to find out how to get my drive to read cd-dvds again… contact me ASAP plz!!!

the first test would be to use a bootable CD and/or DVD and see if you can boot your computer from that. You might need to change the boot order in Bios setup (or invoke a boot menu if present).
My personal favourites are Ubuntu 8.10 for a bootable CD and Knoppix 5.3.1 for a bootable DVD.
Of course, other bootable CDs/DVDs like Windows install discs should do also.
