If I have to choose, I will go with TY. Even better choice is TY DVD+R 8x if the speed is not the key factor (but they can be overspeeded to 12x or 16x in many drives).

TY DVD+R 8x is here for many years, and it have very good stability. I didn’t see a “very bad” scan of them.

For 16x rated TY T003 and FTI made TDK003 are very close, 8x TY is still the champion also the TTH02 -R 16x by FTI are very good too. I actually like it more than TYG03(-R 16x TY). Here is a 8x (white inkjet) burn with Optiarc AD7200S. The printing surface is 1st class!!

I have a related question.

I need to stock up on recordable media and am having a tough time deciding between 100 of the following TY 8x DVD+R

http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-plus-r-media-100

OR 200 of the following Falcon 8x DVD+R for only $14 more.

http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/fti-falcon-media-pro-white-inkjet-hub-printable-8x-dvd-r-200-pack

Which should I get? I prefer QUALITY or over quantity.

Thanks!

To second Mr. Cooley’s advice, I no longer use anything else, even Verbs. I stopped messing around looking for discounts and cheaper media a couple of years ago and exclusively use TY +R 8x media, the best ever. I burn at 12x and almost all of my scans are 97-98 quality score with less than 300 PIF, and more than a few 99’s with under 100 PIF. Never had another media come close. Go to Rima.com and get premium line, not discount, though even the discount line of -R disc are better than 95% of the other discs out there.
