I consider this as a big slap in the face for the DVD+RW alliance. The role of OEM’s like HP and Dell are in my opinion very important to the adoption of the format. Most people buy these kind of PCs and these people don’t care about plus or minus they just purchase what’s in the computer. Also this is against the one format is the easiest, something the DVD+RW Alliance has always propagated and HP was part of it.


…unless they are only going to offer dual drives as aftermarket equipment and carry on putting + only drives in their pc’s (a bit like apple sticking to the - format as i remember)
