eh… Id prefer a hard drive approach. Easier to edit the stuff before making a more proffesional dvd. Unless discs get alot cheaper.

Though I suppose you COULD use a DVD+/-RW.

dvd camcorders arn’t selling because they are a waste. I mean do you really want to pay more for already compressed video/lower recording times/bulkier camera over minidv? i hope dvd camera’s die

A lot of people just want to record and watch their movies without any hassle at all. So DVD Cams make sense. The cost is the primary barrier for this type of camcorders not the technology behind. Just imagine a 300-400 $ camcorder that can easily make menus and chapters during the normal operation time. You end up with a standard DVD that you can directly watch on a standard DVD player.
