Swapping Drives on a DVD Duplicator Tower

I have a 1-6 Vinpower DVD duplicator that gets heavy use that’s over 2 years old. A couple of the Pioneer DVR 111 drives are starting to show some erratic behavior (stop burning for no reason). DVR 111s are now very hard to find & ridiculously expensive.

My question: is there any reason why I can’t swap out the existing DVR 111s in the duplicator for a set of six new drives (possibly from a different manufacturer) as long as they are all the same make & model number with the same firmware?

TIA!

If your going to replace ALL the drives, then you can put any make and manufacturer you want in there, as long as they are all the same. The latest Pioneer is the model 117 (PATA model) available at newegg.com.
