sorry I fear I shouldn't need to ask a lot of these questions but I haven't a clue what I'm doing so hope you'll bear with me thru these silly questions!
I've just got a Sumvision SV1000 and the results are so varied I don't know whether I have a faulty unit or if I keep doing something wrong
I've managed to make a couple of successful recording from cable - but not all have been successful - when I say "successful" I mean that sometimes, although it says RECORDING on screen when I try to view the disk with menu after there is apparently nothing on it. Then other times it says "Prohibited Source" (or something like that) - I could understand if I was recording from a VCR but from tv?? (I only have "normal" cable channels, not film ones, does this make a difference?)
Other times, when I've recorded something, when I stop recording I get a message in top left hand corner of screen saying "Please Wait" - this goes on for 20 minutes, usually until I get fed up and turn it off - then those disks don't work (perhaps not surprisingly but how long does one have to wait?!)
I've used DVD-R and DVD+R disks so far. Doesn't seem to make any difference to the problems I've stated.
I've looked at the ones that have worked and can't see any difference in terms of disk, source, etc to the ones that haven't. To me it seems like Russian Roulette, hoping someone can tell me that I'm missing something really obvious!
