ok, in general when there are foreign language parts spoken in the movie and there are subtitles displayed for these parts, what are the correct options to get these displayed to PS3 MP4. Which options do I select? English, with Force Display checked, unchecked, etc....Thank you

The answer is: it depends. There are many ways that these translations are displayed. The most often used method on current DVDs is forced start, where the translations are forced from within the regular (full) main language (English in R1)subpicture stream. To get these in a Mobile conversion, put a checkmark in the subpicture box for that stream AND the “Display only forced” box. More common on some older DVDs is a distinct subpicture stream that has nothing in it but the translations. You can use the Preview function to see what’s in each stream. You’ll need a tool such as DVDSubEdit if you want to see if they are really forced before you start the Mobile conversion. The subtitles in Apocalypto are “default displayed” using the DVDs menu system. If I remember correctly, the correct subpicture choice for this movie is the second one from the top, but you would not check the “Display only forced” box since they have no forced start commands (and the Mobile conversion will have no subtitles if you do).
