Store and organize over 1000 discs

I have been looking for a why to store dvds and cds (disc only) I currantly have some where over 1000 discs in several cd/dvd folders and spindles. I did alphabatize it once about that is a pain to keep up though.

I thought about buying a dresser or something with not too deep drawers then put some sort of dividers in it and just store my discs in sleeves.

Anybody have any ideas or the way they use to store ther discs?

For the backups of my music CD collection I use those wallet folder books.
They come in a range of sizes, so you can store from 20 to around 100 discs.
The “books” can then be put on shelved or in drawers etc.
Also, you can alphabetize each book - say book one is for A,B,C etc.

I uses cakeboxes, hold about 100 discs:

What if you want to watch or get to the bottom disc

I use jewel cases. I can get 50 ct. for about $4

I number my disks and get CD wallets at the Dollar Store that hold 24 and put 20 in each. Then I use Ant Movie Catalog to translate the disk number to title.
