Standby problems

Hi Everyone,

I just updated to DVDFab Platinum (Option:Mobile) 5.1.1.0 , on my WinXP Pro SP3 computer.
And the last 2-times I was using DVDFab Platinum to copy and burn , my computer tried to go in Standby mode while DVDFab Platinum was running.
That’s never happened before with DVDFab Platinum or any other software .
And the last time it happened, it caused DVDFab Platinum to crash before the burn was finished .
What can I do to prevent this? Would enabling DEP for DVDFab Platinum help?
Thanks.

Go to control panel & set power to always on and, all settings to “never”.

Also, disable ur screen saver. by adding 99999 in go into screen saver mode

I have not had this problem with my copy of DVDFab Plat ver 5.1.1.0.

I never use Stand By mode at all, and my screensaver is set on 2 minutes and while ripping and burning it does not come on.

Hi Everyone,

Just to update my original post, after looking at my log file , I saw that the copy and burn process were successfully completed . However , for some reason, the finalization process failed. Which probably caused my computer to just sit , and that’s why it tried to go into standby.

So I didn’t have a standby issue , I had a finalization problem . I’m pasting part of my log file below…

Does the " 11/21/2008 12:06:00 PM info Format failed, trying to continue… " , indicate that I had a problem with my blank DVD media ?

I didn’t use a very good grade of blank media. Could that be the problem ?
Thanks .

Have you tried the disc?
Have you tried the disc?
I used Maxell DVD+R disc’s . I had a successful burn,copy last night , with DVDFab’s built in burning engine.For a write speed I selected “recommended” and the disk was burned at 2x-4x .
The funny thing is the Maxell disc’s say that they can be burned at speeds up to 16x . But neither DVDFab or Nero agree with that. Nero burning ROM sets my write speeds at 6x-8x, and Nero CD-DVD speed test come up with a
transfer rate of 3x-4x for the Maxell disc’s.
It almost seems like Maxell packaged DVD+R disc’s with write speeds on the DVD+RW level .
I believe I will change the brand of my disc’s. I’ve heard that Verbatim is a good brand !

Here’s the log for my last burn… " 11/22/2008 10:59:58 PM info WRITE SUCCESS: Disc written

I believe I will change the brand of my disc’s. I’ve heard that Verbatim is a good brand !

Verbatim and Ty as written in my sig. The only one’s I use now.

And you should only burn at half the Disc rated speed for better output.
