Hello

I have ripped one DVD9 to my HDD (I own the original). Now as I tried to split it, DVDFab (Platinum 4.0.5.5) does not do anything. There is nothing in the panels…just empty. I have used this program quite a while to back up by splitting a DVD9 to DVD5 but this has never happened. he DVD folder is recognized and also the Disc, but I can not split and hitting the START button does not work.
Please find a screen shot attached.

I have run FixVTS, to remove any error if present, but this also did not solve the problem.

Could some one help me please? :frowning:

Thank you.

id suspect you have the blank media size selection set to dvd5. so even though you ripped to hard drive first the disc was compressed to fit a single layer dvd. now you want to use split, however split is for dvd9.

Thanks troy

But I do not think that is the case. Though I am not even near an advanced user in this back up etc, but the HDD folder is about 7.9 GB in size. Which I hope obviously means that it was riped for a DL DVD! Isn’t it?

Let ma know what else may be done. :frowning:

yes it is a DL rip. could you do a split from the original disc instead of from a rip? your attached screen shot image is missing the source. are you certain the correct source is selected? please try v4062.

Ok, I have updated DVDFab, but it did not solve the problem. :frowning:

Using the original disc gives the same problem. And I am certain that correct source is selected.

Here is the update

The DVD9 was episodic DVD and DVDFab could not decide on the split point, and hence the trouble.

I had to use VobBlanker to manually split the DVD.
