Sorry! its DRU 810a again

Hi there…

I recently purchased a Sony DRU-810a, and used it in a Mapower enclosure via Firewire (as a Master)… Well, its not performing as I anticipated…Burning is 8X max on an Imation DVD-R blank. Reading DVDs is significantly slow. I copied a DVD with an average rate of 2.9 MB/s!! (My HDD speed is 22 MB/s)

I tried to flash the drive’s frimware from 1.0a to 1.0d. But, it gives me an error message… I tried flashing it with a BenQ DW 1640 BSMB, it didnt work either…

My Firewire driver is [Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller]

However, in my Device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM Drives it says Mapower IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device… Isn’t supposed to say Sony DVD RW DRU-810 instead? My WnSAPI.DLL is Nero’s, and I am using Nero 7.0 Premium, running on a Toshiba Satellite 1955-S801, P4 2.2 GHz, 1 G DDR RAM, Win XP Home SP2

One more thing… I am suspecting my Firewire cable… could it be the reason of my lag? My WnSAPI.DLL is Nero’s…

Appreciate your concer,
Dullie
