I thought Sony was now releasing optical drives under the Optiarc name? I suppose all 3 drives are just re-branded NEC hardware. When was the last time Sony made a drive of their own. Wasn’t that the DRU800 or something similar, the first drive out to do + and - ?

EIDE? SATA are the only drives I buy now. Get with it Sony!

i have yet to see 8x +RW on the shelf… not to mention 12x.
