Owners of a Sony Ultra HD TV in the United States will soon get access to a new Ultra HD streaming service called Ultra. The service allows the purchase of Ultra HD Blu-ray movies with HDR at around $30.

I don’t plan on signing up any time soon. Not only do I not trust Smart TVs, but I also don’t like Sony. After all, I can’t think of any other company who uses “piracy” as an excuse to distribute rootkits (which was based on copyrighted code they didn’t own the rights to).

Also, I’m not a fan of UltraHD, as I find the super-high resolution to be little more than an expensive gimmick.
