The one i had before was master on secondary ide channel e support Ultra Dma transfer now the optiarc is slave on secondary ide channel e support only pio mode
Please help me. (Sorry, my English)

Please try this tool for changing your drive’s ATA mode. However it could be that you need a slimline adapter to make this tool work on your laptop.

Also most Toshiba laptops have a problem of not correctly evaluating the Cable Select settings, so the best solution for you will probably be using the Inverse Cable Select mode.

The tool will offer four settings as far as I know.

  • Cable Select (which is the default setting)
  • Inverse Cable Select
  • Master
  • Slave

In case the current setting is “Cable Select” and it doesn’t work properly, it should work with Inverse (could also be Reverse) Cable select for sure.
