Hi there all!! I have an old Dell Optiplex 2700 that is running XP. Just picked up a DVD/CD-R drive as above from a colleague out of a new Dell machine but it will not “Plug & Play”?.. Is there an additional driver needed? I have scoured the internet for about 2 hours and only manged to get firmware updates! Any help/advice will be greatly appeciated!

many thanks

Welcome to the forum.
No driver is required for this drive under XP. But you may need to check the jumper on the back of the drive.
The options will be Master/Slave/CS.
If the AD5200A is on the same IDE cable as the HDD or shares a cable with anything else, then one device should be master and the other device slave.

Right, that cant be.

In DELL computers normally you must jumper optical drives as CS/Cable select.
