Sony DW-U10A in Linux

I’ve got a Sony DW-U10A CD-RW/DVD-RW in a linux box, and I noticed it was running a rather old firmware. Does anyone know how to upgrade this firmware in linux? I don’t want to have to take the drive out and stick it in a windows box.

There isn’t a DOS flasher that I know of, so you will need to be in Windows to flash the drive.

boooo! That sucks… thanks!

I used cedega4.2 (winex or wine may do too) once! to flash my brand new benq dw1620 pro and it worked here - not recommend - make sure you have a supplier who will exchange the drive if you say “uhmm it crashed while i flashed it - dumb windooze” - but at least wine is more stable then windows
