Sony DW-D22A HELP!

OK, The reason I joined the family here,

I have a Sony DW-D22A DVD Burner, and it has worked just great until recently.
I had been burning all my discs at 16X without any problems
Now it reads and burns at 2X. It makes backing up my stuff a real PAIN!
I was wondering if a firmware update might help, or if anyone has any
suggestions for me.

Many Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum TexasWarlord

Might be worth making sure that DMA is enabled - see the link in my signature, “How to check/enable DMA”.

If that doesn’t help, we can help you investigate further

Archne, I have verified that the DMA is enabled on my system.

I am running Win XP SP3. Using Nero 6.6.1.15.
AMD Athlon 3000@2GHZ/1GB memory.
