Sony DVD RW DW-U56A

i have replaced my DW-U50A to a DW-U56A but i have tried burning DVD-R and DVD+R which won’t work.

i don’t know whether it’s the DVD CD problem or the drive.
However i can burn CDR’s perfectly…

i actually use cheap disks to burn but could this be the problem? because everytime i try burning onto a DVD it saids Unspecified target error on nero

these are the disks i use

i will also show u wat the log saids on nero

Welcome:). Both those media types are of poor quality. Try some from What DVD media should I use with my LiteOn DVD burner?. I found that link in the F.A.Q. for LiteOn Optical Drives

Media types don’t matter here. I just spent $2000.00 on this piece of crap sony PCG-K35. I’m having exactly same problem. I’ve tried even good brands of media like MEMORAX, VERBATIM etc. I called sony and they even replaced this DW-D56A drive and still same things are going on. I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I CAN’T EVEN RETURN THIS LAPTOP NOW BECUASE ITS BEEN OVER TWO WEEKS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. HELP PLZ… lets get together and ask sony for money back if all the DW-D56A drives are giving problems.

Hi
I have a Sony DVD±RW DW-D56A
I currently have f/w ver.PDS3 is this the latest version?

Unable to burn “unspecified target error” in Nero
