Welcome to the forum

Have you tried a different brand of media, such as Verbatim?

It seems that your drive is having a problem with that particular media.

Another thing you can try is a firmware update, to see if that will improve compatibility with those discs

#3

Hi

cheers for quick reply im using bulkpaq dvd-r media, i have been using these for over 2 years never had a problems its the same problem if i also use cyberlink power2go burner still fails.

Bulkpaq definitely aren’t the best (quality of the discs can vary quite a bit, and added to that they use any one of a dozen different manufacturers for their discs). So the Bulkpaq discs you used in the past that worked, may well have been made by a different manufacturer.

So, a media change is definitely worth a try.

#5

i have tried burning on a datasafe disc today and that done the same it failed

#6

See the comment above about Bulkpaq, the same applies to Datasafe.

I’d say try updating your firmware, but all I can find is the CYS1 firmware you already have.

It may be possible to crossflash your drive to the matching LiteOn drive (hopefully someone else can advise there), but I think it’s most likely that it’s the media (quality).

#7

To go with the iffy media your memory is quite low:

Physical memory : 446MB (457196kB)
Free physical memory: 47MB (48544kB)
Memory in use : 89

Shut down everything you can when burning next time.
