Sony DVD-R

Does anyone know if Sony DVD-R is considered good media? I see that they are on sale (100 pack is $30) and I’d like to know before I buy. The media code is MR47LS3. Thanks

I am not sure but think thats is very low price for real SONY media. In this moment I am using KVARK DVD-R 8X
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:SONY08D1]

Disc Type : [DVD-R]
Manufacturer ID : [SONY08D1]
Manufacturer Name : [Sony Corp.]
Disc Application Code : [Unrestricted Use : Consumer Purpose]
Recording Speeds : [1x , 2x , 4x , 6x , 8x]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4,489.3MB = 4.38GB (4.71GB)]

This is fake Sony from Hong Kong … I think but generally media is not bad … look:

Provided that Pioneer 110 produced trustworthy results, that is the first time I have ever seen a <100 PIF total for Sony08D1. Usually this mid produces 750-1800 PIF totals in general.

Here there is one of my scans with these media

Maybe this fake SONY from KVARK is better than original SONY? Very hard to scan this silver media but look:

Before this silver serie KVARK have red DVD-R 8X:

Disc Type : [DVD-R]
Manufacturer ID : [TYG02]
Manufacturer Name : [Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd.]
Disc Application Code : [Unrestricted Use : Consumer Purpose]
Recording Speeds : [1x , 2x , 4x , 6x , 8x]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4,489.3MB = 4.38GB (4.71GB)]

Maybe both DVD’s are same but with SONY is better results (maybe better write strategy for this DVD)

This look:

i have these ones http://www.techbuy.com.au/products/48635/BLANK_MEDIA_DVD_MEDIA/Sony/50DMR47S2/DVD-R_8X_4.7GB_50-Pack_Spindle.asp

the code is 50DMR47S2

If you go to the Blank DVD Media Tests thread and then to the Sony DVD-R thread, you will see scan results of this mid (Sony08D1), and be able to see how well it burned or not in different burners.
