Sony DRU-720A firmware update problem!

Hi guys,

I am trying to update the firmware (720A_JY08) for my Sony DRU-720A. But the updater is not running at all. No window pops up. That means I can only see it under Task Manager. I use an USB external drive, is that the reason? Do I have to connect the DVD writer to IDE for firmware update?

Hi & welcome, happytaro

Have you tried in Windows Safe Mode (press F8 on start-up)?
You could also try with Nero’s wnaspi32.dll in the same folder as the flasher exe.
If nothing else works, yes connecting via IDE will do it.
