(probably better, actually, to not mess with the Sony stuff and go for the real LiteOn 832S firmware, since it is now available)
Some notes about this firmware...
1) Yes, 812S@700A does work.
2) I've found that its SL capabilities are decent. On par with, if not better than, US0J.
3) A reviewer at Anandtech, in his 700A review, made the claim at the end of the review that he tried to load the 700A firmware (VYV3, which, again, is identical to VY02) onto a Gigabyte 8x burner (a rebadged 812S drive) and then tried to burn a DL disc on this 812S@700A setup. He reports that it worked (interestingly, he did this over a week ago, before the NEC DL ruckus; so LiteOn was actually the first). However, this is just one test, and he did not elaborate much on this test, so it would be greatly appreciated if people could try to burn a DL disc see if they could support his results.
