Sony DRU-530A vs. Memorex True 8x

Ive just had a horrible experience with my plextor 708a, as it could not read any of my memorex cdrs, etc.
Anyways…i have come to the point where i have to choose another brand.

I have read good things about the Sony dru530a, and good things about the Memorex true 8x. I sort of favor the memorex for I know it will (it better) read my memorex cdrs and dvdrs.
I have read many reviews and tests…and i cannot make up my mind.

I’m looking for the drive that reads any cds/cdrs/dvdsetc (just like all my other drives except the px708a) and at the same time does a good job burning cdrs/dvdrs etc.

I’d like to know if any of you guys prefer one or the other, if you
have had any problems with any of em.

Why is that ? Memorex is just a brand.
The DVD drive is a rebadged Pioneer.
The Memorex CD/DVDR media can be made by any manufacturer from CMC to Taiyo Yuden.

ok…so for cd compatibility both should be good.
what about performance? How’s the pioneer compared to the sony one?

Pioneer DVR-107D DVD±R/RW

Memorex True 8x DVD±RW

Sony DRU-530A Dual RW 8x DVD±RW

I see that both the memorex and sony received an 8/10 for performance. I still cant choose.

Which one would you people choose?
