Sony/Dell DVD burners on Ebay-no support anywhere

I have been looking at numerous Sony DWQ-26A and 28A drives on eBay--seller says they come from a Dell Dimension 8400. But there is NO mention of them anywhere on either Sony or Dell websites. Where can anyone get a firmware upgrade or other support for these drives? Very strange.

Thank you VERY much. Without this knowledge noone would know, as there is no info about this drive anywhere but here that I know of. After research I think I will buy the actual drive, LiteOn IT SOHW-1693S, directly from Newegg in a retail bundle for $48 plus $2 shipping.
