Sony CRX320E and Nero Burner 6

When I attempt to copy a DVD using the Sony (CRX320E) as the source drive and my NEC (ND-3500AG) as the burner drive, I receive the following error:

“Sorry the current recorder supports the following disk type(s): CD-R/RW, MT Rainer, Fixed Packetwriting, but the compilation can only be written on a DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R9 Double Layer. Please select a different recorder”.

I am using a blank DVD-R for the destination drive (which I have used to write DVDs)

What am I doing wrong?

Further Information:

Sony CRX320E (with NYK5 firmware) - Plays the DVD no problem
NEC ND-3500AG (with firmware 2.18)
Trying to copy a single layer (non protected) DVD
Using Nero

Welcome:).This is more of a nero/NEC question. If you are copying disc-to-disc ‘on-the-fly’, make sure you have selected ‘DVD copy’ and not ‘CD copy’. If this does not solve your problem, ask a moderator to move this thread to the nero forum.

I think you got them back to front - the reporting of “MT Rainier”, when that is something the NEC would not be capable of, and the lack of mention of of anything DVD, suggests it thinks you want to copy from the NEC to the Sony.
