Sony combo drive cannot read CDR

Is it true that sony combo drive CRX300E( which is ‘48X/24X/48X/16X’) cannot read CDR that was burned with 52X speed?
CDR is ok to read when we put it in a CDROM 52X.

I can’t see why it would not be able to read it if it was burned at 52x. It would just not be able to read it any faster than 48x. This would be a hardly noticeable speed difference. For most reading tasks drives don’t use there full reading potential anyway. But really the only way to be sure it to try it out.
