My log is above… A few days ago, my dvd writer is working just fine, but however, when I tried to use it today to burn some movies, it gave me an error and lags my computer(every interval). The second time I used it, there is no lag but instead of 3gb at one go(and it took me 9minutes before it told me there was an error!), I decided to try a small folder of 20mb. However, into 50% of burning(almost everytime for that folder I think), it told me there was an error. What exactly happen?

#2

Power calibration error

i’ve had this error before with one of my first drives ever after approx. 2 years of usage. dunno exactly, but i think the laser was slowly passing away.
you could also check if you’ve some burning drivers from past installations which interfere with the nero proggie. there’s a tool on the ahead site for checking.

However, into 50% of burning(almost everytime for that folder I think), it told me there was an error

did you check, if the data on your hdd is intact and has no crc errors?

#3

Yes my hdd is intact and has no problems. I found the driver-clean tool, ran it and it didnt show any conflicting drivers. my drive can read dvd, not sure about reading cd and writing cd (will test it tomorrow, 1am here)… Btw, is it normal to show a blank dvd+r inside as CD Drive in My Computer?
