Just wondering if anyone else has seen these issues or knows the cause.
WindowsXP Pro (up-to-date)
MB: GigaByte GA7N400 Pro2
CPU: Athlon 1600XP
- Standard 1.44MB Floppy
- IDE-1: LiteOn 811s DVDWriter (Master)
- IDE-2: Pioneer DVD-116 (Master) DVD/CD Reader
- IDE-3: 100GB, 7200RPM (Master)
- IDE-4: 100GB, 7200RPM (Master)
IDE3/4 are controlled by the GigaRAID on-board controller and the two disks are configured in RAID-1 (Mirrored) and partitioned into 8GB System partition (Os / Apps - "Drive C:") and 85GB Data (Data components of user profiles - "Drive D:").
[li]DLA will seldom detect a blank CD / DVD and reports "No Disk in Drive" unless I start RecordNow, then insert the media and close RecordNow. Then DLA detects the blank media.
[/li][li]DLA will only format media if I'm logged in as Administrator, which is a fundamentally bad practice.
[/li][li]DLA Failed "..with General Failure" while formatting a CD-RW. Drive locked with Red Light on The implication is that it is trying to burn an index hole right through the disk!!! Had to re-boot to unlock the drive.
[/li][li]Using RecordNow to create a "Data Disk" with CD-RW. RecordNow goes to sleep at 98% and cannot be closed. "End Tasking" it still leaves the drive locked and DLA will report that the drive is being used by another application. Have to re-boot PC to unlock drive, and sometimes shutdown fails in this condition. Strangely, the CD-RW is readable on another PC and was written correctly.
[/li][li]RecordNow shows both Dirve E: and Drive F: as being "Lite-on DVDRW LDW-811S Host:1 ID:0 (E: )" and "Lite-on DVDRW LDW-811S Host:1 ID:0 (F: )" Using the "Drive-->Open Tray command from RecordNow shows that no matter which drive you select, it opens the tray on the LiteOn drive (actually Drive F: ).
Sonic RecordNow DX Version: 4.60 Build 460B25e.384.024(LTT)
Sonic DLA Version: 4.6.0u
I'm interested in feedback..
By the way, I'm posing this as a new issue on Sonic's Support site, as there is no similar issue in their KnowledgeBase.
